The New Mexico Lions Eye Bank is a member of TBI/Tissue Banks International, a non-profit network of eye and tissue banks. TBI helps us ensure that all suitable tissue is makes its way to a transplant recipient by distributing tissue that is not needed in our community to other areas of the U.S. and around the world. Lions Clubs International
Lions are recognized worldwide for their service to the blind and visually impaired. Lions founded our eye bank almost forty years ago, and we continue to be supported by local Lions Clubs who provide leadership by serving on our all-volunteer board of directors and making financial contributions. New Mexico Donor Services (NMDS) is the non-profit organ and tissue recovery organization serving the state of New Mexico. The New Mexico Lions Eye Bank partners closely with NMDS to help reach out to donor families in our communities and promote the gift of eye, organ, and tissue donation.
